Visa Issues
Citizens coming from countries that have not yet joined Schengen Area may require a Visa to enter Greece. EU visitors from these countries can acquire further information from the Hellenic Embassies or Consulates in their countries, or from their travel agencies. Before visiting Greece, please consult the detailed information on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website and find out whether you require a Visa. How to get there
By Air
There are two international airports on Crete, Heraklion Airport and Chania Airport. You are strongly advised to choose the Heraklion Airport. It is the primary airport on the island of Crete, Greece, and the country’s second busiest airport after Athens International Airport. The airport is located about 5 km east of the main city center of Heraklion and ~25 km from Hersonissos. The Heraklion Airport serves domestic flights to and from all the big cities of Greece and of the other Greek islands, such as Santorini, Rhodes, Mykonos and Paros.
Charter flights to Heraklion are available by many airlines from various parts of Europe. You can travel to Heraklion, Crete from any country via Athens, the capital of Greece.

By Ferry
There is an every day ferry boat connection between Athens (Piraeus) and Crete is available directly to Heraklion by both MINOAN Lines and ANEK Lines.

How to reach Hersonissos
Taxi
The most convenient method to get to the conference hotel/venue from all locations (airport / seaport / downtown) is by taxi, with an approximate fare of 40-50€. Taxi or minibus transfers can be arranged. Please email info@diazoma.net , in case you want to arrange this service.
Public bus to Hersonissos
There is a bus departure every 30-45 minutes from the airport exit. The ticket costs 3-5€. When you arrive to Hersonissos city center, you can take a taxi to the conference venue, Convention Center of Creta Maris, and the cost is approximately 10€. The first bus departs at 06:30 hrs and the last one at 21:00 hrs.

You can also rent a car, from many different companies (both International and local), that you can find at the airport.
